Full-Time Volunteer Program

The Cristo Rey NY Volunteer Program seeks dynamic, thoughtful young men and women of promise who are committed to sharing their many gifts and talents with our students.

This full-time, residential volunteer program requires a two-year commitment and volunteers serve the community in various ways, such as teaching, assistant teaching, moderating extra-curricular activities, coaching, and training and chaperoning students in support of our Corporate Work Study Program.

The program runs for just over 22 months, from mid-August through late June.  Volunteers will also attend a week long teacher training session provided by the Cristo Rey Network in July of year one.

Benefits of the Program

  • Mentoring by experienced teachers
  • Opportunities for spiritual and personal growth
  • Two-year loan forbearance through the AmeriCorps Program
  • Housing in a community along with other members of the program
  • A monthly stipend for food and personal expenses
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Opportunities for professional education and development at Fordham University
  • Monthly transportation pass (Metrocard)
