We are excited to welcome the next generation of Lions to Cristo Rey New York High School, and this year, families have more flexibility in how they apply.
CRNY is now TACHS Optional!
Students may apply to Cristo Rey New York with or without taking the TACHS exam. Students who choose to take the TACHS can list CRNY as one of their three high school choices to be considered as a TACHS applicant.

Every student who enrolls at CRNY benefits from the Corporate Work Study Program, which helps make a CRNY education affordable while giving students the opportunity to gain real-world experience in professional workplaces across New York City.

STEP 1:
Age
Students must be 14 years old by October 31, 2027

Financial Need
Cristo Rey New York High School exclusively serves students who desire a college prep education but cannot otherwise afford to attend a private high school. Demonstrated financial need is a requirement for admission and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis through the financial aid process. Academics
Applicants should demonstrate solid academic performance, consistent attendance, and a strong commitment to success. Students must be prepared to meet CRNY’s rigorous academic expectations and fulfill the professional responsibilities of our Corporate Work Study Program.

Employability
You must possess the maturity and work ethic necessary to be successful working with adults in an office environment. All students must be authorized to work in the United States by the first day of the work-study program.

Transfer Student
Cristo Rey New York accepts 10th-grade and 11th- grade transfer students at the beginning of each academic school year. Students who are interested must follow the application process and meet all requirements. Cristo Rey New York does not accept mid-year transfers.

STEP 3:
APPLY ONLINE
All prospective families are required to log in and create an account on our online admissions portal. Once the application is received, the admissions committee will review the materials and contact families if anything additional is needed.

STEP 4:
SUBMIT RECOMMENDATIONS
You must send the Confidential School Report/Transcript Request and the Confidential Teacher Evaluation forms to their current school using the online recommendation portal. Please check with your current school to confirm who should receive each form.
Note: If your current school prefers to complete the PDF version of the school forms instead of completing the forms online, please download the school forms. Then provide the school with the forms to complete and return the forms to CRHS when complete.
STEP 5:
Complete the FACTS application to determine eligibility and financial aid.
As part of the Cristo Rey New York application process, all families are required to complete the FACTS Financial Aid Application.
FACTS allows us to review your household income and determine your family’s financial eligibility for Cristo Rey New York. For students who are accepted, this information will also be used to determine your family’s annual tuition contribution.
Completing the FACTS application is also required for families applying through Student Sponsor Partners (SSP).

If you did not file a 2025 Federal Income Tax Return, please complete the FACTS application as fully as possible using the financial information and documentation available to you.
Your admissions application is not complete until the FACTS Financial Aid Application has been submitted.

STEP 6:
Once all required application information and documentation have been submitted, the Admissions team will schedule an interview.
INTERVIEW STRUCTURE
The interview process takes 60 minutes. There are 3 sections. Each section lasts roughly 10 minutes. Please keep in mind that the section order will be different for each student.
