Cristo Rey New York High School was founded in 2004 out of a great impulse to help bring about social justice. The central challenge we address is providing access to a quality college-preparatory education for students from low-income families.

In 2022, Cristo Rey New York HS was ranked #1 among schools in the Cristo Rey Network in the key performance indicator of College Readiness. CRNYHS has almost double the percentage of college-ready students as compared to the average across schools in the Network.

College readiness is tracked nationally by the Cristo Rey Network as the percentage of students earning a 3.0+ GPA and one external measure: SAT CR 480+ and/or SAT Math 530+ or 3 or higher on an AP exam.
